About the Frederick A Krehbiel II Innovation Medal

In 2002, the Molex company generously endowed a professorial chair at the University of Limerick in honour of Frederick A Krehbiel II, the Co-Chairman of the Board and grandson of the founder of Molex. The chair is entitled the Frederick A Krehbiel II Chair in Innovation in Global Business and Technology, and the holder of the Chair is Professor Brian Fitzgerald.

Among the duties of the Chair is to select an individual who has excelled in the area of innovation in global business and technology, ideally with a close Limerick connection.

A committee comprising the holder of the Krehbiel Chair, the Assistant Deans of Research in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Kemmy Business School, and any other relevant personnel nominated by the Krehbiel Chair will adjudicate each year on medal applications.

Applicants must be nominated by a member of staff at the University of Limerick, and completed applications must be submitted before June 30th using this Application Form.

The medal will be awarded in conjunction with the relevant conferrings (At present, Summer conferrings are typically in the last week of August. Winter conferrings are typically in the 3rd week of January).
